What is National Marriage Week?

It is a platform to
encourage people
to celebrate, discuss and enhance their marriages.
It’s a week-long opportunity for couples to reflect on their marital
relationship, sharing both joys and sorrows, hopes and fears, achievements and
disappointments. It’s also a time for the wider community to reflect on their
own role in supporting couples and creating a more helpful environment within
which marriages can thrive.
A Blessing Cup Ceremony to Honour Marriage
“I
am delighted to offer my support to National Marriage Week. It is a time to
celebrate the gift of marriage and for married couples to take a look at the
health of their own marriages. It is an opportunity for us all to become aware
of organisations
that help support couples.”
Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor
“It
is a pity that most pastoral and professional attention is directed
and that is the surest way to swell the ranks of the sick”
Cardinal Basil
Hume
